Andalucian Challenge Malaga to Seville Ride

Bike Adventure

Now these are special roads. Secret roads. The ones that most riders don't get to visit. They're super quiet and super smooth. And they connect together some quintessential Andalucian villages towns and cities. You can join this ride, and tick off a whole heap of fantastic stuff all in a single hit. Don't miss this ride, its beautiful.

We shall collect riders from Malaga Airport, and transfer to our first overnight in Lucena. With time to relax and unwind, and a nice evening meal, before we then set off Northwards via the Sierras Subbeticas - and then onwards up to Cordoba - the ancient Moorish Capital and now UNESCO World Heritage City.

We shall reserve a fantastic evening meal here, and you will have some time to get out and explore this wonderful city.

From Cordoba we ride down the Guadalquivit River - and down to the fascinating walled town of Carmona for the last night of the ride. Another doubtless delicious Andalucian feast awaits tonight, before completing our ride in central Seville early afternoon of the last day.

You now have the choice of a rapidfire return to normality - or the chance to savour one of Spain's most historic cities. Famous for its incredible castle, and its tradition of flamenco dancing. Interestingly, along with Cordoba these cities were under Moorish control for almost 400 years.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive and Transfer to Hotel in Lucena

Day 2 - Ride Lucena to Cordoba - Approx 105km + 958m ascent

Day 3 - Ride Cordoba to Carmona - Approx 110km + 1200m ascent

Day 4 - Ride Half Day - Carmona to Seville - Approx 55km +100m ascent

This itinerary ends on Day 4 - when you either fly home in the afternoon / evening - or you opt to stay in Seville. Please discuss your plans with the office.

Accommodation

Typically we use good quality hotel accommodation for this ride - of 4 star quality throughout. Accommodation is usually on a twin share basis - although it may be that your group has opted for single supplement upgrade. Breakfasts are always included. We attempt where possible to ensure that we are staying in an interesting location - which has interesting surroundings to allow you to explore in the evenings. This means in practise, historic city centres, or walled medieval villages are often our favourites :-)

What is a Level 3.0 Cycling Challenge Like?

These rides are typically multi day rides, with medium distances and undulating terrain. Level 3 rides suit riders who ride regularly, and are looking for something challenging but manageable. In the case of single day events, you can expect up to 8 hours of cycling with breaks. In the case of a multi day ride, you can expect a slightly lower daily duration - but of course - the effort is sustained over a longer period. You should be a competent rider, with regular training outings - both at the weekend and ideally with another session during the week. A 10 week training programme is available for our 3 star rides.

How Fit Do I need to be to join a Level 3.0 ‘Bike Ride’?

You need to have good endurance for these events. You must be used to doing long bike rides in the countryside of 5 hours + and distances of between 45 - 55 miles . You should be doing regular exercise - with some serious cycle training (at least twice per week in the run up to the event). Your typical comfortable cycling speed will be around 21-23 km/hr on flat and gently undulating terrain, and you should be able to cycle at higher speed for up to 1 hour or 25 km (on a road bike). You may also blend in other types of exercise - but for longer periods of time (ie sessions in excess of 1.5 hrs.) - however cycling is the best preparation (obviously!)

Special Notes

On this ride we are able to offer high quality Carbon Road Bikes for hire. Please ask at time of booking if you require this. If you are not hiring - then we prefer you to bring your bike in a soft case. This makes transportation easier for your support team.

Notes on Cycling Events

This is our standard range of Cycling Challenges in the UK, Europe and further afield. However, we offer completely tailormade itineraries to your specification. Call us to discuss! Please note that for overseas point to point cycling challenges we can transport soft cases for bike transport - but not hard cases, due to space limitations on board our support vehicles. On all our cycling events, please pack sensibly and bring a reasonably sized soft holdall type bag. To participate in an overseas Adventure Cafe challenge - you must carry Travel Insurance (to be for the activity you are participating in, and to include repatriation to the UK). Please also note that you should have a good level of cycling experience and be competent to handle your bike. We ride on roads shared with other vehicles - and you need to be able to deal with this safely.

Adventure Cafe Booking Terms and Conditions
